About Me

Grownup backpacking holidays

I might be older these days, but I still love backpacking. I'm not the only one - I've noticed that hostels aren't calling them youth hostels and have been calling them backpacking hostels instead. I like being able to meet people at the hostel. Some of the best experiences I've had when travelling have been meeting people just like me and going off on crazy unexpected adventures in new cities. Growing up doesn't need to mean getting boring. If you are a bit older these days but still like to stay in dormitories and have backpacking holidays, you are going to love my site.

How to have an epic workout in your hotel room

When you are on the road for business travel it is very important to look after your health in between calls with clients and remote web conferencing. But not all hotels have an on-site gym. If your employer has booked you into a hotel without a gym, the good news is that you can still have an epic workout without any fancy gym equipment. You can complete all of these exercises with only the items that you'll find in every standard hotel room.

Bed push ups. Something that absolutely every hotel room has is a bed. If you don't have enough floor space to commit to a set of push ups, you can use your bed to help you out, and actually, you can also use the bed to make the push-ups easier or harder based on your fitness level. To make them easier, place your toes on the floor and your hands on the bed and try a set of ten incline push-ups. And to make them harder, do just the opposite – place your toes on the bed and your hands on the floor and try out a set of decline push-ups.

Bicycle crunches. Your comfortable hotel bed is also the ideal platform for completing a set of bicycle crunches. This is because the squishy surface will force your abdominal muscles to work harder and create a clean crunch. Lie on your back, bend your knees, and bring your left shoulder to your right knee while extending your left leg. Then do the same thing but with your right shoulder, and do a set of ten repetitions. You should feel a squeeze in your stomach, making this a great exercise for flat, toned abs.

Luggage Rows. For this exercise, you'll need both a desk chair and your luggage. You can have fewer items inside the luggage for an easier workout and you can add more if you really want to test yourself. Kneel on the chair with one knee – the other foot should be firm and stable on the floor to give you support. Then hold your luggage in one hand to the side of you and lift it up evenly. Repeat this ten times on each side and you are certain to feel the burn in your arms.

Now you have no excuses not to be in optimal health whenever you are on the road for business.
